National Park is in Рolish law one of the most important protection form that is dedicated to areas sustained in natural conditions, having fairly untouched vegetation and biodiversity. Despite that the Silesian Forest-Nature District has a unique areas in terms of nature values as well as cultural and biodiversity heritage, no national parks were established here until now. In the proposed national park of Silesian Forest 50 legally protected plant species were noted, in this 16 listed as threatened in Polish Red Data Book. Assessment of the possibility of using deciduous tree bark as a biomonitor of heavy metal pollution of atmospheric aerosol

The aim of the research was to assess the possibility to use deciduous tree bark in the biomonitoring of urban areas. The tree bark taken from various deciduous tree species growing in the Opole Province (south-western Poland) was used for the research. The bark was collected from tree trunks in the period of June 2–26, 2017. Concentrations of the heavy metals were determined in the barks by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The present work outlines the natural, historical and cultural values of the selected fragment of Silesian Przesieka located in the southern part of a locality called Miejsce (the former town of Schwirz) (Świerczów municipality, Namysłów сounty, Opole Province, Poland). Here, the natural values are also mixed with unique historical, cultural and landscape values. The authors reconstruct the original riverbed of the Stobrawa River using a Digital Elevation Model. W opracowaniu przedstawiono stan oraz kierunki i zakres zmian społecznych i gospodarczych w Kędzierzynie-Koźlu w latach 1995-2018. Przyjęty okres badawczy pozwala wskazać tendencje rozwojowe miasta, jednocześnie był on warunkowany dostępnością wiarygodnych i porównywalnych danych statystycznych. Badania przeprowadzono przede wszystkim na podstawie analizy wskaźników stanu, struktury i dynamiki wybranych zjawisk opisujących sytuacje ludnościową i gospodarczą miasta. Abstract Results of phytosociological studies conducted in the southern part of Opole Silesia within the Sudetes mountain range in 2014-2015 are presented. The main aim of our research was to confirm the occurrence of Viscario vulgaris-Quercetum petraeae Stöcker 1965, which had previously been noted in Poland only within the Central Sudetes Foothills in Lower Silesia province. Two additional sites of this extremely rare in Poland plant association were confirmed, located within the Opawskie Mts in Opole province. The paper presents unpublished data on the occurrence of rare, protected species of saproxylic beetles: Osmoderma barnabita, Protaetia speciosissima, Lucanus cervus and Cerambyx cerdo in the Opole voivodeship (south-western Poland), together with maps of distribution. The paper also includes comments on the current situation of these species in the region and predictions about possible changes in their population trends. New sites of these rare beetles significantly improve the knowledge about their distribution in the region and will help local authorities in investments planning and natural resource management.
